rambam
Shalom HaRav,
Hope all is well.
I had a question that i thought you could answer.
Rambam Hilchot Yom Tov 6:19-20 discusses the idea of chatzi lachem on yom tov of eating and drinking ad ha-lyla. Yet he says that in law 20 that one shouldn't overdo it, only commanded on simcha sheyesh bah avodat yotzer. My question is what does the Rambam expect you to do during the afternoon of the chag? Isn't eating/drinking til nighttime considered overdoing it? A related question, is do you think if one decides to spend more than chatzi for Hashem and learn a lot on yom tov that he is undermining the goal of the holiday as described in Moreh 3:43?
Thanks.
